It´s not easy to say why some babies develop slower than other babies. It could be a delay in the physical development. This might last for a few weeks after birth, or it might be permanent.
There can be several reasons for baby development delays. Part of the baby development delays might be that your baby starts to walk or talk later than is considered normal.

Good nutrition, home remedies best for measles treatment
The dry season is here again. Already there have been pockets of reported cases of measles in most homes across the country. Studies have shown that dry air has four main effects on the human body. Breathing dry air is a potential health hazard which can cause such respiratory ailments as asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, and nosebleeds, or general dehydration since body fluids are depleted during respiration.
Diseases such as measles occur during dry weather. Measles, respiratory and highly infectious disease is caused by a virus known as rubeola. Measles virus normally grows in the cells that line the back of the throat and lungs. The illness does not select, it can attack anyone, ranging from adult men and women to children. However, statistics show that the disease is mainly common among children. Studies have shown that children below 12 months are the most vulnerable ones.
Measles can be classified as one of the most undesired and discomforting as well as life threatening illness.

Keep Bananas Fresh Longer Using Plastic Cling Wrap
Do you never finish a bunch of bananas before one or two are too brown for your taste? Slow down the ripening process by wrapping a piece of plastic cling wrap around the crown of the banana bunch. Educational weblog SnapGuide points out that you should use a piece of cling wrap around the size of your fist and wrap it tightly around the crown. Each time you remove a banana carefully remove and replace the cling wrap. If done correctly this trick should give you another three to fives days before your bananas are too ripe to enjoy.

Below are five simple steps you and your spouse can take to keep the romance alive, after you have a child
1. Make a date and stick to it Chances are your schedules were busy before baby was born. Now you’re taking turns working, napping, cleaning, feeding and caring for your little one. I love my child but I want my wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just want to address this thing that my wife does and a lot of women do it too (because i' have heard a lot of men talk about) Before you have any children, it's just you and your wife and then as soon as the baby comes, your wife starts to put the baby in the middle of the bed at bed time. this thing drives me mad.
I can't even touch my own wife again? a lot of women are guilty of this and it's about time they stop it!!!! children should not come between the romance husband and wife shares.

Colorful fruits, vegetables may be key to cancer-fighting diet
Many cancer-fighting fruits and vegetables are at their nutritional peak in the fall, and it’s a good time to incorporate them into your diet, a nutritional expert advises. For example, research suggests that eating an apple a day really may keep the doctor away, by helping to prevent throat, mouth, lung and possibly breast cancer, noted Stacy Kennedy, a senior nutritionist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Apples contain a nutrient called quercetin, which protects the cell’s DNA from damage that could lead to cancer.
“The key is to eat them raw and with the skin on. That’s where many of the nutrients are found,” Kennedy said in an institute news release. Cranberries, another healthy fall favorite, are in season and at their nutritional peak now.
Recognizing a stroke by asking three simple question
Stroke has a new indicator! They say if you forward this to ten people, you stand a chance of saving one life. Will you send this along? Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue: During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ...she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 PM Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die.

Couple Celebrates 80th Wedding Anniversary, Shares Secrets to Lasting Marriage
I wish my self this
On Nov. 25, 1932, FDR had just defeated Herbert Hoover, the daily
newspaper cost two cents, and Ann Shawah said "I do" to John Betar in
Harrison, N.Y.
Fast forward through 13 presidents and 80 years to 2012: the Betars are still happily married. After five children, 14 grandchildren and 16 great children, the couple from Fairfield, Conn., will celebrate their 80th wedding anniversary Sunday.
"We are so blessed. We are fortunate," John Betar, 101, said.
"We are very fortunate. It can be repeated and repeated," Ann, 97, echoed. "It is unconditional love and understanding. We have had that. We consider it a blessing."
What's their secret?
"They have this wonderful ability to accept life as it comes," their daughter Renee Betar said. "They have a way of trying to look around at the things that they do have -- the family and the blessings. They came from a generation where there is such respect for each other and caring."
The Betars consider themselves "fortunate." Hesitant to dole out advice to newlyweds, they each offered simple, guiding mantras to a lasting marriage.
"Get along. Compromise. Live within your means and be content," Betar said, before adding, "And let your wife be the boss."

Chicken Adobo Recipe
Adobo is the immersion of raw food in a stock comprised variously of paprika, oregano, salt, garlic, and vinegar to preserve and enhance its flavor. The practice is native to Spanish cuisine. It was widely adopted in Latin America and other Spanish colonies around the globe, particularly the Philippines, where Filipino adobo is something of a national dish. There are many ways to cook adobo.
The cooking instruction below is the simplest way to cook this delicious dish. Ingredients 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, olive oil is better
3 lbs chicken thighs
3/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 tsp peppercorns (crushed)
1/4 tsp salt
3 cloves garlic (chopped or crushed)
2 bay leaves
1/4 of a medium onion (chopped)
2 medium size potato, cut into cubes (optional)
Instructions

What Did You Do All Day? (ALL MEN MUST READ THIS!)
A man came home from work an...
d found his five children outside, still in
their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers
strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife’s car was open, as
was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.
Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess.
From God to my dear Daughther
Dear Daughter,
I have sent you to a man's
house to be a blessing to him and 'help' him achieve the goals I gave
him. He's not like you at all. He's burly, quite insensitive. You'd be
surprised he might not even realize you've come to help! So, to help
your task and protect you from being on the receiving end of his
imperfections here are some vital instructions.
1. Don't ever
try to fix him, if
...
he ever develops a fault, I'm his
manufacturer and you will need to talk to me about him. You're his wife,
not his God. I don't particularly like it when you think you can change
him and you attempt to take my place.
2. Well, I'm your God
too, but your husband is my deputy in your life. To get the best of him,
you need to respect him like you do me. Get more instructions on this
from your grandmother Sarah.

An Independent Woman who Stands Beside her Man
In my marriage, sometimes I stand beside my husband,
shoulder to shoulder facing the world together.
Sometimes I stand in front of my husband, particularly when he is tired and just needs a break. And there are other times when I stand behind him.
It doesn't make me weak
It doesn't mean I am unequal
It doesn't mean I am silenced
It doesn't mean my husband makes all the decisions
Where I am standing has nothing to do with my worth or with my level of independence

What Makes a Healthy Relationship?
Hopefully, you and your significant other are treating each other well. Not sure if that's the case? Take a step back from the dizzying sensation of being swept off your feet and think about whether your relationship has these seven qualities:
Mutual respect. Does he or she get how cool you are and why? (Watch out if the answer to the first part is yes but only because you're acting like someone you're not!) The key is that your BF or GF is into you for who you are — for your great sense of humor, your love of reality TV, etc. Does your partner listen when you say you're not comfortable doing something and then back off right away? Respect in a relationship means that each person values who the other is and understands and would never challenge — the other person's boundaries.

Top 10 Things to know about raising Daughters.......
I am sharing with you the Top 10 'need to know' things I have read about raising girls:
(Sounds funny but guess u can pick one or two....)
1. Invest in toilet paper. Seriously! You might want to think about ordering in toilet paper by the truck load. The older they get, the more toilet paper they use and we easily, and I mean easily go through 25 - 30 rolls per week.
2. Have a good hiding place for toilet paper. (If the kids see your stock pile they won't be as careful about not using so much because they will think that you are almost out. I hide mine in the stow-and-go in my minivan.

How ‘PhD holder’ lived, died in refuse dump
What exactly happened to Dr. Olawunmi Thorpe, an Ogun State indigene, who died a homeless man, may never be known.
To passersby and residents, who saw Thorpe everyday in the rubbish dump beside the rail line at Fagba Bus Stop in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State, he was a deranged man.
But what many people did not know was that Thorpe had a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Mass Communication and a PhD in English Language.
All these information came to light when we got information that the “mad man” who spoke impeccable English had died about 5pm Wednesday last week.

Things to Do With a 10-Month-Old Baby
At 10 months old, your baby is
learning much about his surroundings and much about himself. He's
chatting more and understanding simple phrases, exploring with his
hands, perfecting his crawling abilities, attempting his first steps and
imitating actions of others. With such milestones, you may need to
engage in more interactive, exciting activities with your baby to grab
his attention.
Play Hide-and-Seek
Your child is now able to learn object permanence,
or knowing that an object out of sight is still existent and can return.
You can demonstrate this idea by hiding an object and asking her,
"Where did it go?" Then bring it back into view and exclaim, "There it
is!" Your baby will start to grasp that though it is out of view, it has
not disappeared. She will then associate object permanence with people,
understanding that even though you have left for work, you have not
disappeared and will return later.
Foods for 10-Month-Old Babies
Your 10-month-old is probably
ready to become a full-fledged participant at the family dinner table.
Most babies this age want more substantial fare than strained baby
foods. Introducing more foods with texture as well as finger foods that
your baby can pick up himself helps to develop his palate and also
provides plenty of hand-mouth coordination practice. Always talk with
your child's doctor about specific food recommendations.
Requirements
You 10-month-old's exact nutritional requirements
will depend on his weight and activity level. But most children this age
need 90 to 120 calories per 2.2 lbs. of body weight, notes the Hasbro
Children's Hospital Surgery Handbook. Protein is important for growth;
babies of this age need 2.5 to 3 grams of protein per 2.2 lbs. of body
weight. You don't have to become a nutritionist to figure out your
child's requirements. Give her three meals a day with two snacks, plus
formula or breast milk and don't worry about the exact number of
calories in each meal. Babies, like adults, eat different amounts at
different times.
Milk vs. Food
A baby less than 1 year should still drink either
breast milk or formula; don't start cow's milk until after your child's
first birthday. Your 10-month-old still needs 16 to 24 oz. of formula or
breast milk each day, according to the Delaware Women, Infant and Child
Nutrition Project. If your baby drinks too much formula, she might not
be interested in eating solid foods. Save the bottle for the end of the
meal rather than giving it at the beginning. Many 10-month-old babies
are ready to start practicing with a cup and enjoy holding -- and
banging! -- a spoon, although your child won't be ready to use it
properly until she's over 1 year.
Finger Foods
Babies at 10 months should have a well-developed
pincer grasp, which allows them to pick up finger foods between thumb
and forefinger. Finger foods are fun for your baby to eat, encourage
independence and expose him to a wider range of flavors and textures.
Cereals work well for breakfast, but cut-up fruits, cooked vegetables
and small pieces of soft meat also work well as finger foods. Keep foods
soft; your baby won't get his molars for really chewing foods well
until he's between 12 and 18 months.
Caveats
While
your 10-month-old baby might seem ready and eager for any type of food,
you must restrict certain foods. Large pieces of hot dogs, whole
grapes, hard candies, nuts and untoasted white bread present choking
hazards for a 10-month-old. So, cut foods into small pieces and make
sure they're soft before giving them to your baby. Don't give up if your
baby doesn't take to a new food right; it may take up to 10 tries
before she gets used to a new taste or texture,
advises KidsHealth.

What is your sex life like after your baby..............
-->
Sex after baby is not as simple it seems, here are some reactions by some moms…..
I'm not kidding. Right now, sex seems uncomfortable, time-consuming, and oddly depressing.
My friend is a new mom too...and she can't get enough of the stuff. Which of us is normal? Well, according to Dr. Jennifer Wider, MD, author of The New Mom's Survival Guide: How to Reclaim Your Body, Your Health, Your Sanity and Your Sex Life After Having a Baby, we both are. Her simple explanation? "We’re all different." Yeah, we all knew that, but this is one of those cases where little reassurance goes a long way. To help ease your mind (and mine), let's take a look at a few real-mom examples from the message boards.

Trouble Sleeping in Babies
Baby
isn’t sleeping? Causes of sleeplessness in babies -- and how you both can get

What is considered trouble sleeping
for a baby?
You might think its normal for a
baby (and often a toddler) to have trouble sleeping from time to time. But the
fact is, there are a number of health issues or concerns that might make it
difficult for your baby to sleep.
What could be causing my baby to
have trouble sleeping?
Anything from a stuffy nose to an ear infection, reflux or pain from teething can make it difficult for your
baby to sleep soundly. Sometimes developmental issues (like separation anxiety) can also make it tough for
him to fall (and stay) asleep.

Every
baby is different, but there are definitely some ways to maximize your chances

Clear the Clutter
Make sure the nursery is designated as a room for sleep. Keep the area around the crib free of toys and other fun knickknacks. "Crib distractions confuse your baby," says Conner. "They'll make him wonder, 'Is this a playpen, or is it time to sleep?'" Clearing the space will help your baby mentally associate the bedroom with sleeping and other rooms with playing. "Babies can't understand you verbally," reminds Herman. "You need to figure out how to give them other cues."

Unsafe food for nursing moms? :-Is there anything I should avoid eating or drinking while I'm breastfeeding?
Is there anything I should avoid eating or drinking while I'm breastfeeding?
Fortunately, you don't need to change your diet too much while breastfeeding -- All the vitamins you take in will naturally go to your breast milk first. This means it's nearly impossible to deprive baby of what she needs. However, there are a few things that you should cut down on while baby's nursing.
Fish
You don't need to completely cut out fish, but the FDA recommends that nursing women (as well as those trying to conceive or pregnant) should limit fish intake because of its mercury content. Can't do without a good tuna sandwich now and then? Just remember that the FDA advises no more than six ounces of canned albacore ("white" tuna) a week.
